ACTIVITIES AT THIS YEAR’S WOMEN’S TOUR OF SCOTLAND

At each of our host town and cities we will have a number of hugely exciting activities available for friends and families of all ages and abilities to get involved in!

DUNDEE

Stage 1 – Start, Slessor Gardens
9.15am-2pm

Community Activity First Session
Ride Out –
Riders of all ages and abilities from different clubs and community groups will ride a short circuit before the start.

Spin Sessions – With the Active Seniors Cycling Group from the Institute of Sport and Exercise, University of Dundee.
Cycling Scotland’s Skills Track – Skills track with ramps, kickers, tabletops, seesaws and skinnies.  Riders get to show off and practice essential skills
E-Trikes – Rediscover Dundee and Volunteer with Dundee Project! They will be showcasing and demonstrating their incredible trikes
Strider Balance Bikes – Balance bike obstacle Course for young people aged over 18 months
Roller Race – Time trial on rollers, measure your speed and time against another rider
Adapted Bikes – With Tayside NHS, Dundee Social Care and Health Partnership. With wheelchairloaders, Side by Side and Recumbent Trike demonstrations.
Arnold Clark – Toyota Hi-Lux and giveaways
Dundee Cyclathon in aid of SAMH – Cycling information in the area
Local Bike Shops – With Bike maintenance sessions tbc
Food stalls and coffee stall

DUNFERMLINE

Stage 1 – Finish, Pittencrieff Park
12pm-5pm

Race to the Finish – Experience a short section of the route at the finish with a few extra surprises!
Mini Road/Cross loop – small ride of the route courtesy of the Carnegies Cyclones.
Fasttraxx –  Fast, modular Pump Track with timing and tricks.
Cycle Circus Skills – with Sustrans
Sustrans Info Tent– with local cycling info for all
Cyclo Speedway Demo and Taster with Fife Speedway Club
Pilates for Cyclists –
Taster sessions
Balance Bike – skills and loops
Cycling without Age – rides around the park
Active Fife – information for Fife classes and Clubs
Dunfermline Cycle Club – turbo bikes/chat info/ bake sale

GLASGOW

Stage 2, George Park
8.30am-2.30pm

Women on wheels – Glasgow based campaign launches on the start line with Scottish Cycling Team
Ladies ride out – 600m of the start of the race with 50 ladies from local clubs taking to the course
Glasgow Sport & Scottish Cycling – Go Ride Coaches with Pump Track and Bikes
Bike for Good – Variety of information about Glasgow Cycle Community Network including Sustainable Transport, Glasgow Cycle Maps, programmes and projects.
Glasgow Eco Trust – with Smoothie Bikes
Free Wheel North – Adapted Bikes & Demonstration
Dr Bike – With South West Community Cycles information stall.

EDINBURGH

Stage 3, Holyrood Park
9.15am-4pm

10.25 – Breeze Ride Leaders, inspiring female riders, will leave in advance of the Peloton and then come off after 1.4km into Holyrood Park
10.45 – Mass Ride out. Come along and ride a lap of Holyrood Park, joining Gail Porter, Mark Beaumont and WOW HYDRATE Ambassador Victoria Williamson.
11.20 – “Race the Volcano” – Edinburgh Road Club have put on a Youth Road Race to begin after the mass ride. Click here for Facebook page and here for entry.

Other activities for all ages and abilities:

Fast Traxx Pump Track – With local riders showcasing skills and some timed competition for all. Pump Track racing with fastest time competition.
Cycling Scotland’s Skills Track – Skills track with ramps, kickers, tabletops, seesaws and skinnies. Riders get to show off and practice essential skills
Strider Balance Bikes – Balance bike Obstacle Course for 1 ½ years up
