A neutralised start will take the riders and entourage safely over the Tay Road Bridge and racing will start soon after they enter Fife.

The first sprint of the day is at Cupar (20.8kms) followed by a moderate Queen of the Mountains climb at Grange of Lindores (45kms).   Falkland (54.7kms) is the second sprint location on the lower slopes of Falkland Hill, followed in quick succession by the third sprint of the day at Leslie (65.3kms).

The beautiful course followed on stage 1 passes the RSPB at Loch Leven in its later stages.  At 87kms the riders will tackle the final climb of the stage at Cleish Hill.  This will be decisive as it is immediately followed by a very fast descent into Dunfermline, where they will finish  on a rising slope within Pittencrief Park.
